Houndstooth

by Claudia Murillo on November 10, 2020

Houndstooth originated in woven tweed cloth by the Scottish. It is a two-toned textile print characterised by broken checks. Originated in black and white. The print was named HOUNDSTOOTH after being inspired by the uneven shape of a hound dog teeth giving the name a canine sound.

Its print has symbolized a status of wealth in the early style scene. Christian Dior was one of the first designers to incorporate this design in his Spring/ Summer Collection in 1948. Today, this design has become popular among many designer brands like, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Armani.

In 2020, Houndstooth classic pattern  is still a big fashion trend among Men and Women. A Classic pattern that is never out of trend and pops out during Fall and Winter season.

We at Peanut Butter Collection introduce this textile print in our Young Adult Collection as well as in our Boy Collection. It is a popular item for fall and Holiday season. A suit that can be worn for all falls special occasions as well as holiday gatherings.
